In early 2014, Owner Mark Verge named his new Santa Monica eatery after his father, Art Verge. Art’s Table embodies the generous spirit and infectious optimism of its namesake, respected waterman and longtime educator and city historian Art Verge, whose family dates back five generations to Santa Monica’s Marquez Rancho days.

Art loved cooking up a meal for friends old and new, opening a cold libation, ensuring glasses were always full, celebrating life and savoring the moments with loved ones. Everyone was welcome at Art’s table. They still are.

Art’s Table is a family restaurant that has something for everyone—sandwiches, salads, steaks, burgers, fish plates, pasta, plant-based options and a wonderful selection of desserts. It’s everyone’s favorite neighborhood restaurant on Montana Ave, and its dog-friendly patio is a great place to converse with friends, meet locals, and enjoy a glass of wine under the California sun. The owners have four other restaurants, The Golden Bull Restaurant, Ashland Hill, Margo’s and The OP Café, also in Santa Monica.

One of their most popular dishes is the Greek corn salad with roasted corn, tomato, cucumber, red onion, scallions, feta cheese, dill, olives, mixed kale, red wine vinaigrette and lemon dressing. The Chef’s Burger is hands down the best burger on the Westside. The house-ground patty is single source, organic beef and made fresh daily. It’s guaranteed to turn any burger lover into an Art’s Table regular.

All meat and seafood served at Art’s Table is sustainable, hormone-free and/or free-range. They offer more than two dozen California and old-world wines by the glass, eight craft beers on tap, cider, hard kombucha, and a variety of specialty cocktails.

California Linen Services provides Art’s Table with crisp, clean linens and dish clothes for keeping the kitchen and bar clean daily. California Linen also replaces the floor mats weekly. According to Art’s son, owner Mark Verge, “California Linen has helped our restaurant stay clean from the dining room tables to the kitchen, top to bottom.
